We promised to assist 700 small businesses through the delivery of 70 courses and we did it. In fact through the CleverLink Connect 700 in 70 e-Business training program we helped many more small businesses and delivered over 80 courses, a series of self help DVDs, online training, mentoring sessions and a small business EXPO!
To celebrate the success of this great program, CleverLink held a Celebration Gala Dinner on Friday 22nd July at Wollongong Golf Club.
Joining us on the night were participants of the program, along with local business supporters and our guest MC and friend, Rob Salisbury, who flew in from Singapore!
Collectively we celebrated this successful small business program with a three course meal, a live band and the presentation of awards to formally acknowledge course participants, supporters and the CleverLink team.

More photos of the Gala Dinner is available on our Photo Gallery
In keeping with the idea of technology, the theme for the evening was ‘semi-formal with a touch of silver’. Also in keeping with the theme, tables and the stage were decorated using custom made artwork made from recycled computer parts, thanks to Renewable Recyclers.
Guests were greeted by ‘live robots’, courtesy of the Eaton Gorge Theatre Company and enjoyed a pre-dinner reception before entering the main function room for a three course dinner. Guests also received a souvenir laptop bag, networked and were entertained through the night, by our guest MC Rob Salisbury. The evening was filled with quizzes, prizes, balloons, and many laughs.
One of the many highlights of the evening was our “Time Capsule”, that we filled with many items that we collected during the program. We also gathered our guests visions and thoughts and placed them in the box, which we have now sealed and will open in 7 years time.
Special thanks go to Juliet Scrine, of the Eaton Gorge Theatre Group and Scrine Marketing and to Jo Halios-Lewis for coordinating such a great and memorable event.
As the evening’s main host, I showcased a highlight of the training program and just some of those businesses that have found success as a result of the program.
I was then joined by Rob and Juliet, who delivered their ‘ten point sales and marketing guide to surviving tough business times’.
I later gave my many ‘thank yous’ to all those who helped make the program a success, including my wonderful CleverLink team, the CleverLink advisory board, trainers, other program supporters, the Gala dinner coordinators and of course my wonderful and supportive husband and family.
We showcased our summary program video, which encapsulated many of the year’s highlights into an eleven minute film, set against the theme tune to ‘Rocky’.
I gave out our appreciation certificates and admit that along with the many laughs; I did shed a couple of tears!
The entire audience were then invited to the stage where we all posed for a ‘happy snap’ which we’re pleased to enclose here in our gallery.
To round off the evening many guests danced the night away to the great band playing on the night.
It was a fun evening and one I’ll never forget.
Best wishes
